22 Things I Learned in 2022

  1. When you truly and completely follow your heart and soul, you will be led to the right place. Stop pushing away what is trying to find you. Listen!! Faith over fear baby. Don’t let your worries get in the way of living a fulfilling life.

  2. Perfection does not exist. You will only hurt yourself and others trying to strive for it.

  3. Everything that is meant to be, will be. The path for you will come.

  4. There is always a lesson to learn, you may have to look for it, but it’s there.

  5. You give emotion and energy to your thoughts. If you want to be happy, you can be. The power is within you.

  6. Moving your body because you want to and because it makes you feel good is so much more rewarding than if you do it because you feel like you should or because you want to look good.

  7. Restricting “fun foods” does not make you healthy and does not mean you have good “will-power.” It will come back to you. You will deeply feel the restriction and have a need to eat everything. Fuel yourself. Eat the fun foods and embrace the memories that come with them.

  8. Taking a break does not make you weak, it makes you stronger. You will have more energy and brain power if you take the time you need to rest and come back harder.

  9. Resilience is a beautiful thing. You are going to get knocked down again and again and again, but you will get back up and that is incredible. It may knock you down, but it won’t knock you out.

  10. You can handle everything that you are given. It may not feel like it in the moment, but you are capable.

  11. Life is about finding joy. Do the things you love. Be with the people you love. You have limited time on this planet so you may as well make the most of it. Stop wasting time worrying about what other people think, do what you want to do.

  12. Be proud of yourself. Don’t live life skipping over your accomplishments onto the next thing or else you will live your life on autopilot. Finish a task and take the time to give yourself props.

  13. Communication is the key to life and to happy, healthy relationships. No one is a mind-reader (at least to my knowledge) so communicate. Talk about what is working or what isn’t. Explain what you want or what support you seek.

  14. Every day is different and that is amazing. Who wants to live the same day over and over? Not me! It’s ok if you have lower energy some days. It’s ok if your 100% was yesterday’s 50%. Doing your best looks different every day and you have to accept where you are each day. Grant yourself grace. You are doing your best and that is enough.

  15. The way you speak to yourself matters. Start treating yourself better. Turn that inner voice from devil to angel. You are a boss b!tch, now start acting like it. Tell yourself how awesome you are. If you don’t believe it, how is anyone else supposed to?

  16. Romanticize your life. You control how your life is and how you react to it.

  17. Self-reflection is one of the only ways to create change. Be self-aware and reflect on who you are and how you want to change. Noticing what you like and don’t like about yourself is the only way to make the best version of yourself. Then, whatever you don’t like, make the moves to fix it.

  18. Change is a good thing. Although it is scary, change is healthy. You are not meant to be the same person throughout your life. You are also not meant to have the same body. Your personality, body, mood, vibe, etc. will change. This is all part of creating the best and highest version of yourself. However, change does not happen overnight. Be patient and let yourself grow like a beautiful bouquet of roses. They start as seeds and with the right conditions, they turn into bright red roses.

  19. Be the wild, crazy, incredible human being that you are regardless of those around you.

  20. Comparison kills. It truly is the thief of joy. It doesn’t matter what others are doing, once again do you. Notice when you compare. Notice how often it comes. Let it go. You may think you don’t compare, but keep your eyes peeled because comparison can be sneaky. You don’t need to compare lifestyles, workouts, eating habits, material goods, grades, success, etc. Focus on yourself.

  21. You make time for the things that matter. Time always seems to fly by, but we have to prioritize what matters most, and we do. If you really want to, you will.

  22. Compliment people. Say nice things. Be nice. No matter how other people act, you can choose kindness. If we each choose kindness more often, think of how much happier and better this world will be.

BONUS: Forgive people. NOT because they deserve it, but because you do. The mental space should not be used for them, it should be used to create your highest self.  Forgiveness has freed me and allowed me to grow.

BONUS #2: Doing the right thing is hard. Shortcuts are tempting. BUT, putting in the hard work, the time, the effort, that is what will set you apart. Keep your morals in place, even when no one else is.
