Kindness Matters

I wanted to write a short blog post about kindness. I think we all need to be more cognizant of how our actions affect other people and ourselves. When we choose kindness, our mood increases as well as the mood of others around us. We need to remember that being unkind to others is a reflection of our insecurities. When people start to feel bad about themselves, they feel like they need to make others feel just as bad as they feel. So, if we are being mean to someone it probably means we are feeling insecure or bad about ourself.

We need to know ourselves and know when we need to separate ourselves from others if we feel like we are going to be unkind. We then need to figure out why we are feeling this way and how we can change it.

Confidence is an ever fleeting feeling, but if we are feeling insecure, we need to acknowledge this feeling and reflect before we say something that we may regret.

There is absolutely no reason to put down others. We are all going through something and none of us need any negativity from the people around us.

I know it’s so cliché but treat others the way you want to be treated and if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all.

Work on lifting people up!! It makes others feel better and you feel better. Then, we can create a happier and better environment. We can all thrive together and grow together.

I think the key to kindness is focusing on taking a minute to think before we speak. Think to yourself, will this benefit anyone? Should I say this? Also, if we are feeling bad about ourself, what is something we can do to boost our confidence and mood. For me, working out is what shows me how powerful and strong I am and makes me feel like I can conquer the world. Sometimes, eating a piece of cake makes me feel happier and more confident. You have to know yourself in each moment and know what you need.

Think about working on kindness this week. Compliment others around you. Say “Hi” to people. Notice how it changes your mood and their mood.
