Holiday Workouts
Happy Ellavate day 5! For today’s post I wanted to give you guys two quick and easy holiday workouts to do by yourself or with family and friends. The first workout is a Hanukkah workout that uses a dreidel. The second workout is to the song Jingle Bell Rock. I had so much fun creating and doing these workouts and I hope you guys love them as much as I do.
Workout #1 Dreidel Workout:
I wanted to include what the symbols actually mean because I thought it was so interesting and maybe those who celebrate Christmas can learn something about Hanukkah. I celebrate Christmas and I never knew what the symbols meant so making this workout taught me more about this awesome Jewish holiday.
You will need a dreidel, but if you don’t have one, there is an online generator you can use by typing, “spin the dreidel,” into your search bar. The structure of this workout is 40 seconds of exercise and 20 seconds of rest. The symbol on the dreidel tells you how long you have to do the exercise for.
If you roll…
Nun: you don’t have to do the exercise
Gimmel: you have to do the exercise for the full 40 seconds
Hey: you have to do the exercise for half the time, 20 seconds
Shin: you decide how long you go for
Exercises:
Jumping jacks
Jumping lunges
Burpees (with or without the pushup)
Plank
Bicycle crunches
Jump squats
Mountain climbers
High knees
Russian twists
Ice skaters
You can go through these exercises once or repeat it. This is great to do with your family on any night of Hanukkah!
Workout #2 Jingle Bell Rock Workout:
My favorite workout buddy!!
For this workout I was inspired by one of my favorite Youtubers, MadFit. She makes tons of workout videos to different songs so I thought I would give it a try, but make it holiday themed. This only takes about two minutes and is a great full body workout. Not only is it super short, but it’s also so fun so you have to go and give it a try. If you want to do it, click the link below. You can also get creative and make your own workout to any holiday song. Another suggestion is to use this video as a way to get your blood pumping between classes if you are doing online school.
I hope you guys had fun with these workouts and got your body moving in an exciting way.
