Take yourself on a date!
Hello beautiful people. I hope you are all having an amazing summer so far. Before I left on my trip, I decided to spend a day to myself, soaking in the summer sunshine and just letting my thoughts float around in my head. I realized I had never really spent the day alone when going out to places. Of course I have spent many days relaxing in my room or in my house by myself, but I had never gone out to lunch and shopping without someone else. I wanted to try it out because sometimes its nice to take a step back from life and other people’s drama and instead look at the world around you. So, in this post I want to share some of the things I did, as well as some other ideas for you to take yourself out on a date.
The first thing I did was slept in. I needed some major sleep so I slept until I was satisfied. I also love that feeling when you are partially awake but partially asleep and you just lie in your bed thinking beautiful thoughts. Another idea is to wake up early and catch the sunrise.
The amazing part of having a full day to yourself is that you don’t have to ask anyone else what they want to do. It is all about you and what you want to do and you don’t have to make any compromises.
After I woke up, I stayed in my PJ’s and got some breakfast. I had oatmeal with crunchy peanut butter and fruit as well as some kombucha. I love this meal because it’s delicious, keeps me full, and is easy on my stomach in the morning. You could also find a new fun breakfast recipe that you haven’t tried before or go out to breakfast.
I decided to take Ajax on a walk. It was super fun to listen to music, hang with my pup, and chill.
I finished getting ready for the day, put workout clothes on, and hopped on the Peloton for a 60 minute climb ride. I wanted to get in a good sweat and that is exactly what I did. If you aren’t feeling like working out, just skip it. Another fun idea would be to try a workout class like yoga or cycling.
Then, I got ready for shopping and lunch. I hit a few stores before going to get my favorite black bean burger from Shore restaurant. I loved being able to sit, eat, and simply look around. Life is constantly go go go. Everyone is always talking. Things are always happening, but during this time, the world around me took a pause.
Lastly, I spent the rest of the night hanging out with our new bird, Jalapeño, as well as with the rest of my family. I ate dinner, watched TV, and went to bed.
Other ideas could include; going to the beach or laying out, getting your nails done, going to a spa, baking, painting, etc.
It’s important to remember that each and every one of us are special in our own ways. We all deserve time to ourselves to honor our uniqueness and embrace the true versions of us.
